Michael Naylor’s journey from the cockpit of military aircraft to the strategic helm of a global aerospace company is a narrative defined by discipline, vision, and innovation. Founded in 2003 by retired US Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Flores, Jr., PKL Services Inc. began its journey with a clear mission: to provide skilled logistics support where it was most urgently needed. Leveraging Flores’ background in logistics and supply chain management, the company launched its operations with a small team and an ambitious vision.
What started as a modest initiative quickly took flight. As the demand for aviation maintenance and training surged, PKL expanded its reach supporting U.S. Marine Corps operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and venturing into international maintenance and repair services. Over the last two decades, PKL Services has evolved into an industry stalwart, known for its precision, professionalism, and people-first culture.
“OmniSpec is not just a training platform; it’s a transformation in how aviation professionals prepare.”

An Officer with a Clear Mission
Over a decorated military career spanning three decades, Naylor logged more than 5,000 flight hours across helicopters, tiltrotors, and fixed-wing aircraft. His leadership roles included commanding officer responsibilities, as well as flying elite missions such as transporting the President of the United States aboard Marine One. His deep understanding of operational precision and leadership became the foundation upon which his post-military career would be built.
After retiring from active duty, Naylor briefly explored the financial sector with the intent to support military families. However, his passion for aviation and leadership drew him back into the aerospace world. A chance meeting with a PKL executive who had previously worked with Naylor became the pivotal moment that led him to join the company in 2013.
Leading PKL with Strategic Vision
Since becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2020, Naylor has been instrumental in expanding PKL’s operational capabilities and global presence. His role encompasses oversight of human resources, finance, and operational program managers. He also plays a critical role in proposal development, contract strategy, and international expansion.
Under Naylor’s leadership, PKL Services has strengthened its position in countries like Saudi Arabia and Singapore, where it supports U.S.-made aircraft training and maintenance programs. Now, the company is actively expanding its services into Latin American markets, with Brazil, Colombia, and Ecuador emerging as key targets.
Creating the Future of Aerospace Training
One of Naylor’s most significant contributions has been guiding the implementation of OmniSpec®, PKL’s trademarked, full-spectrum training system. OmniSpec combines traditional classroom methods with cutting-edge tools such as computer-based learning, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and Assisted Live Display Technology (ALDT). This dynamic platform allows customers to receive consistent, advanced training regardless of their location or equipment availability.
Thanks to OmniSpec, PKL clients can now train their teams without grounding operational aircraft, increasing efficiency and reducing costs. The program also supports train-the-trainer initiatives, equipping senior personnel to mentor junior team members effectively in the field.
Maintaining Compliance and Operational Excellence
Naylor’s leadership is further distinguished by a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and quality assurance. PKL’s operations are certified to both ISO 9001:2015 and AS9110:C standards, reflecting a steadfast commitment to quality. These certifications demand rigorous, ongoing audits and reflect PKL’s dedication to safety, consistency, and client satisfaction.
Beyond compliance, PKL operates with lean infrastructure, meaning its employees remain directly involved in every aspect of service delivery. This approach keeps costs low and responsiveness high, enabling the company to adapt quickly and serve clients with greater agility.
Empowering Veterans and Building Culture
One of Naylor’s proudest achievements is helping military veterans transition successfully into civilian aerospace careers. Approximately 90% of PKL’s workforce consists of veterans. Many of them bring experience as pilots, engineers, and logisticians from military service and now apply those skills in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Naylor ensures that these employees are supported, trained, and empowered to grow. He regularly travels to international locations, meeting with partners, clients, and government dignitaries to ensure PKL continues to meet the evolving needs of the aerospace industry.
The company culture under his leadership thrives on the ethos of “Row True” a guiding principle that encourages unity, shared responsibility, and excellence across all levels of the organization. Employees work in harmony toward common goals, making PKL not just a place of employment, but a platform for meaningful, mission-focused careers.
“PKL thrives on trust, innovation, and the unmatched discipline veterans bring to every mission.”

Industry Influence and Continued Growth
Michael Naylor’s extensive network within military and civilian aviation circles has helped PKL stay ahead of industry trends. From OEMs and regulatory agencies to international defense organizations, his relationships inform PKL’s strategy and growth. The company’s presence at global aerospace and defense conventions has also helped solidify its status as a key player in maintenance and training.
Looking ahead, Naylor remains focused on expanding PKL’s capabilities across new geographies and client segments. The goal is clear: to continue providing unmatched aerospace support, powered by skilled personnel, leading technology, and uncompromising values.
