The focus is on bolstering collaboration, promoting cross-border initiatives, and establishing voluntary carbon standards. Notably, an international green technology and investment alliance is in the works in the GBA, reflecting the commitment to cross-regional environmental advancements.

The panel discussion featured insights from industry pioneers. Gordon Tam Chi-ho, CEO of Farm66 Investment, highlighted the potential of green technology in mitigating the environmental impact of farming. His innovative approach involves multi-layer structures and whole farming systems in industrial areas, aiming to minimise deforestation for agriculture and reduce Hong Kong’s carbon footprint.

Director at DETERMINANT – an online men’s clothing shop –  Stephanie Chan Hoi-yee, emphasized the pivotal role of technology in promoting sustainability in the fashion industry. She underlined the importance of precision and efficiency in both production and consumption, emphasizing the need for collaboration with the innovation industry to drive responsible consumption and environmental preservation.

Architect Tony Ip Chung-man echoed the sentiment, noting that specialised tools and comprehensive assessments are crucial in the journey toward sustainable green buildings. These tools, tailored for various aspects of construction and design, contribute to the development of zero-emission neighbourhoods.

Managing Director of CR-CP Life Science Fund, Liu Da, highlighted the core concept of green technology in improving lives and ensuring longevity. He underscored the importance of addressing concerns in middle- and low-income economies, emphasising the role of green progress in elevating living standards.
