The survey reveals Europe as the preferred destination for 67% of Americans in the upcoming year, with film and TV locations significantly influencing travel plans (22%). Contrastingly, only one in five Canadians is committed to increasing travel in 2024, attributing social media as their primary travel influencer (27%).

The survey delves deeper into travel motivations, revealing a focus on wellbeing, with 39% of Americans prioritising relaxation and unwinding. ‘Quality me time’ emerges as the top priority for the perfect vacation (34%). Additionally, 22% of Americans express a desire to break away from the ordinary in 2024, with over half (53%) inclined to explore ‘off the beaten track’ destinations. Environmental consciousness is a notable consideration, with 20% expressing an aspiration to travel more sustainably—an aspect aligning with British Airways’ commitment to sustainability through its BA Better World initiative.
