admin Simba SC, Tanzania’s giants are banned from executing the international transfer of players by the world’s football governing body, FIFA.
Based on the reports, the decision was made after a Senegalese club, Teungueth won its case against Simba over the transfer of their former player, Pape Ousmane Sakho. This was revealed through a statement released by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) on Thursday.
A case was lodged at FIFA against Simba by Teungueth after Simba failed to clear part of the amount agreed during the transfer of Sakho. It was claimed that the Tanzanian side was given 45 days to settle the payment but they could not, reports claim.
“As FIFA banned Simba from conducting the international transfer of players, TFF also suspended Simba for conducting domestic player signings,” adding: “TFF reminds clubs to respect laws, regulations, and procedures of football to avoid different penalties which include imposing suspension on player signings,” read part of the TFF statement.
CAF Champions League side Simba SC have been banned from making transfers by FIFA over issues with Senegalese club Teungueth FC.
As a consequence of the ban, Simba cannot make any new signings until this matter is resolved.
Simba start their CAF Champions League campaign against ASEC Mimosas this weekend, and will also face Morena Ramoreboli’s Jwaneng Galaxy as well as Wydad Athletic Club in Group B.
