FlyingBinary

Dr. Jacqui and her FlyingBinary co-Founder were part of a group of 200 people who gathered with Tim Berners-Lee to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the World Wide Web. At that event, the co-Founders realised that they had a different perspective on the engineering challenges need to build IoT technology, and thus FlyingBinary was born.

And now FlyingBinary is Cyber Essentials accredited by the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and have been awarded all 11 G-Cloud frameworks for the UK Government. FlyingBInary have specifically deployed an Artificial Emotional Intelligence G-Cloud service to equip European businesses and government organisations to understand client and citizen emotions as preparation for a post Brexit world.

Data Journalism- An Innovative Approach

At a data conference, Dr.Jacqui Taylor met Simon Rogers, who was at the time Editor of the ‘newish’ Guardian Data Blog. They decided to collaborate and combine her web science skills and Simon’s journalism skills to create a collaboration on stories that they believed would matter to the world and thus the journey of data journalism on the web began. Over a period of time they collaborated on many important datajournalism stories. Today  over 34 million people consume the stories FlyingBinary publish. Dr. Jacqui has written three collaborative datajournalism books which are primers for journalists across the industry.

 ‘Stay Hungry Stay Foolish’

‘Stay Hungry Stay Foolish’ are the words of Steve Jobs’s that guide Dr Taylor. Following these words, Dr. Jacqui’s scientific research is being used to improve the lives of people across 90 nations. Until 2019 this work has been directed to build IoT technology for Generation Z. Dr. Jacqui adds “However, 2019 was a signal change for the IoT work we do and we have transitioned to building the technology for Generation Alpha. This cohort of young people and the change they will bring to the world is what motivates me every day.”

Gratitude Journal

“Fear is a constant reality”, maintains Jacqui an entrepreneur for over 25 years. She says, “I have developed a resilience to circumstances, viewing these challenges as an opportunity for personal growth. Without fear there would not be any need for courage, courage is the challenge to ourselves to be the change we want to see in the world. We all need to manage fear, whatever we do in our lives. I constantly challenge myself to change to ensure I develop the courage to defeat fear.”

‘Zero to Hero’

“Our clients have named the approach we take to innovation as the FlyingBinary “Zero to Hero” program. We build innovative secured and accredited IoT technology, which can be configured to enable a new approach to their business challenges or unlock new opportunities by the experts in their organisations. Delivering the WOW to our clients means that we are the go-to company when they are planning the next innovation” affirms Jacqui.

Be A Role Model

While addressing women to play more prominent roles in their organisations, Dr. Jacqui says “As an entrepreneur working in the IoT my gender has been a definite disadvantage and we are all aware of the lack of women on the boards of organisations and the fundamental change that will be required as we navigate our society towards the IoT. I recommend that women find their role models and if you can’t find one, then it is our responsibility to be the role model we seek. This involves being visible. Which I do by the regular Press articles I write in publications such as The Times or Telegraph. Being available, I am an international speaker and make time before and after the speeches I deliver to meet anyone with questions. Sharing my knowledge on a regular basis, I have written 6 books to share my enthusiasm for the change which the IoT brings.”

Words for Women Entrepreneurs

“Contact me!” these are Dr. Jacqui’s word for women entrepreneurs, she adds, “FlyingBinary’s success is because we had decided to be the next change the world needs to see. We are currently building technology to support 1 million entrepreneurs to leverage the opportunity of IoT. I will be sharing our success plan with these entrepreneurs via a unique membership offering with access to me personally to support their growth. This initiative is called 1 Million Founders and launches in October when the UK exits from the European Union”
