Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani: Thyrocare’s Visionary Creator
Thyrocare was ideated and nurtured by its fearlessly talented leader, Dr. A. Velumani. Dr. Velumani is the Creator of “Thyrocare” and Founder of Thyrocare Technologies Limited. Hailing from the remote village of Appanaickenpatti Pudur in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, he created this supremely successful empire. Dr. Velumani studied at the Panchayat Union School and went on to complete his graduation in Chemistry from Madras University. Hardworking and frugal, Dr. Velumani’s greatest inspiration is his mother who stood tall even in the darkest of times. She was the embodiment of ‘guts and grit’, trying to make ends meet with a bare minimum during their difficult childhood days.
After a prolonged period of struggle, he began his career in 1979 at a capsule manufacturing company with a meagre salary of only Rs. 150. However, the factory was soon shut down. He considered this an effective boon in disguise. His true test of strength began when he arrived in Mumbai and had to survive the dire conditions of the early days. After spending several days of sleepless nights at the VT railway station in Mumbai, he was greeted with a government offer from the BARC, Mumbai.
