The content playout team at Planetcast actively manages media assets of more than 270 reputed Indian and Global broadcasters on 24×7 basis, headed by a wonder woman, Sunita Sathu. Sunita has been with the company for more than 17 years and currently serves Additional General Manager at Planetcast. Sunita manages a team of more than 370 playout specialists across Noida, Mumbai, and Kochi more than 25% of playout team members are women.
Sunita manages the entire team in three shifts of 8 hour each. Planetcast is a truly 24x7x365 company, our office never sleeps and operations are continuous. The biggest challenge during the shifts is to make sure that the content of the broadcasters is aired on time without any glitches, it is the most important part of the media value chain as the advertiser revenue, TRPs, and audience engagement depends on timely broadcast of media content.
Sunita has been consistently delivering outstanding services to reputed broadcasters like STAR TV, Walt Disney, Viacom18, Times Group, National Geographic along with many more. She has successfully executed broadcast of world’s most popular TV events like EMMY Awards, GRAMMY Awards, Indian Premiere League, Oscar Awards, Chandrayan 2 launch, Pro Kabbadi and many more.
She is responsible for crafting the solutions as per client’s requirement understanding their new requirements / enhancement in order to give the best service. Managing any kind of Playout migration, new Playout or live set up for customers.
Handing New Projects
Sunita ensure that necessary compliance related to ISO 27017:2015 are met across Planetcast network for all the customers including STAR, Walt Disney, Viacom18 at Planetcast headquarter based out of Noida, supported by IT, HR, Administration and other relevant departments.
Sunita is an active member of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) for Noida/ Mumbai / Cochin offices, as constituted in pursuance of The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
Nurturing Talent
Sunita is actively involved in planning technical & non-technical training as per business requirements. Handling Playout appraisal process, reward & recognition. She has been awarded with consistent excellent performer of the year for 4 consecutive years.
Sunita believes that the dynamic nature of the broadcast industry has kept her going for almost two decades. She wakes up to a new challenge every day and goes home as a satisfied professional who did her best and contributed to the growth of the organization.
Initiatives during Covid-19 pandemic
Managed the 24×7 (12hrs shift for 6 months) Shift operations with limited Manpower during pandemic keeping one standby team always ready for the crises .Ensured all proper safety measures were taken in account during pandemic.
Arranged Porta Cabin facility outside the premises as back up to run the operations across globe in case our office area would have been sealed due to covid 19.
Under the able leadership of Planetcast, Sunita implemented company’s covid strategy efficiently. Playout teams were given proper training to adapt to the new working conditions and Planetcast is proud to say that a complex event like Indian Premiere League was executed flawlessly in the middle of pandemic. Planetcast ensured that all the customer SLAs were met and not even a single customer was affected because of the pandemic.
