Tier scooters will hit the streets of London at the end of the month. It has been designed to support safety and inclusivity, especially for people having sight loss. Its appearance includes more Tier colouring, a bright light and upgraded indicators which gives 360° visibility to the riders and the fellowmen on the streets. The e-scooters have easily recognisable contrasting colours and their ID plates have continuing black texts with a yellow background at its front and rear, the contact information to report any sort of reckless behaviour is also displayed in white on a black background. More distinguished features of Tier e-scooters include independent brakes, grippy handlebars and wider and larger tires.

The latest Tier e-scooters has a service life of five years. A universal sound for e-scooters to alert the pedestrians is being developed and will be tested on the streets of London along with engagement with disability experts, which will also include UK’s leading visual impairment charities, to make sure the e-scooter does not bombard the safety of visually impaired citizens. These tests will be conducted in partnership with UCL’s Pearl research facility to ensure maximum safety.
