The Czech Academy of Sciences hosts the Week of Science and Technology in Prague from Nov. 11 to 17. The festival aims to attract public, especially young students, to pay more attention to the global threats such as climate change and natural disasters. The Week of Science and Technology is the most extensive science festival in the Czech Republic. It takes place every year in November and Technology of the Czech Academy of Sciences offers events all over the Czech Republic – in every regional seat and many other places.
The programme will have the opportunity to attend exhibitions, lectures, excursions, science cafés, the screenings of documentary films, laboratories, libraries, look into scientific workplaces, and learn how science is conducted. Only registered visitors have access to the majority of the programme The lectures and excursions are aimed mainly at secondary-school students are in the mornings. For the wider public, the afternoon and evening lectures and accompanying events are prepared.
At the institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences the open houses are intended for all visitors who are interested in finding out more on the latest trends in the area of science, in the work of scientific employees, the research projects of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the latest scientific instruments. Online many lectures will be delivered and their recording will be saved in the archive. More than 50 partner organisations and all of the institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences supports, participate in the Week of Science and Technology of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
