NASA has now come out with a new claim in regards to the sunquakes. According to the prestigious space giant, the source of the sunquakes on the surface of the sun actually lies about 700 miles or 1126 kms below the surface.
These results have been reached to via observations that were made over a decade ag, the results however have been published now.
The solar flares also known as sunquakes were earlier believed to be caused by the either magnetic forces or because of the heating of the outer atmosphere. This new study however proves otherwise and point out in a new direction altogether, pin-pointing on something unknown that possibly exists beneath the surface of the earth, some 700 miles below.
The reason that this particular assessment has been made is because of the acoustic energy found in the form of waves that form ripples on the surface of the same, similar to the ripples found in a lake. Moreover, there is also an outburst of light, energy and other material that is seen which could not be the result of heating or magnetic forces, thereby, giving this theory by NASA scientists more credibility.
The ripple like waves which are the primary basis for this evaluation were first seen in the year 2011 and then further studied by the scientists using helioseismic holography. The results of this study proved to be controversial as the very theory made by earlier scientists was questioned in totality. A new origin source was indicated to be lying around 700 miles below the surface of the sun.
However, the note worthy point here is that till late, we can to a large degree only make assumptions on what happens on the surface of the earth. Very limited data is present which leads to new questions and theories.
NASA now plans to study these sunquakes in depth and is determined to find out the cause behind these sunquakes or solar flames and for the very same reason they will be looking at all sunquakes closely.
