The technology giant of Japan, Fujitsu, is all ready to put to trial the use of Generative AI (GenAI) around their banking operations.

In a bid to identify promising use cases for technology, the Tokyo-based tech vendor is ready to conduct the experiments along with Hokuhoku Financial Group.

According to their collecting report, the companies will leverage generative AI technology, including an AI module for conversational AI Fujitsu is offering via its Fujitsu Kozuchi – AI Platform, in the banking operations of Hokuriku Bank and Hokkaido Bank to respond to internal inquiries, generate and check various business documents, and create programmes.

Fujitsu’s generative AI technology is anticipated to enable partners to conduct trials in a fast and agile manner. There will be no need of setting up a specific testing environment.

Based on the results of the trials, the Hokuriku Bank and Hokkaido Bank will determine concrete usage scenarios with the aim of applying generative AI technology to its actual business operations.

Numerous banks in Japan have stated their plans to experiment with the technology while a number of regulators have voiced their opinion to bring in new rules to govern the use of Gen AI tools.
