California-based startup AiDash has successfully raised $50 million in a Series C funding round led by Lightrock, with participation from SE Ventures and existing investors. This latest round brings the total funding for the artificial intelligence (AI) and satellite technology company to an impressive $83 million. The oversubscribed Series C round underscores the growing investor interest in cutting-edge climate technologies.

Driving Growth and Innovation

AiDash plans to utilise the fresh capital to fuel its growth trajectory, with aspirations to double its current team of 300 employees over the next two years. The company aims to establish a European headquarters, marking a strategic move to expand its international footprint. A notable aspect of this expansion plan involves hiring 150 skilled professionals in India, leveraging the country’s technological prowess and vast talent pool.

Satellite-First Solutions Meeting Global Demand

The funding injection aligns with the increasing demand for AiDash’s suite of satellite-first products, notably the Intelligent Vegetation Management System. This system empowers utilities to proactively identify and mitigate vegetation risks before they pose a threat to power grids. Moreover, AiDash’s Intelligent Sustainability Management System (ISMS) has found relevance in assisting organisations in compliance with the UK’s Biodiversity Net Gain laws, a testament to the versatility of the company’s offerings.

AiDash’s global presence is on the rise, with growing momentum in Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The company boasts more than 150 customers worldwide, achieving impressive annual recurring revenue (ARR) growth since its inception in 2019.

Addressing Climate Risks with Technology

Rahul Saxena, co-founder and Chief Product and Technology Officer of AiDash, emphasises the urgent need for advanced tools to manage the growing risks posed by environmental changes. He asserts that AiDash’s unique combination of satellite technology and AI is adept at safeguarding critical systems, particularly those managed by utility companies with expansive geographical footprints. The company’s mission is to expand its reach and extend the benefits of AiDash to more markets, contributing to the resilience of infrastructure worldwide.

In the words of Ash Puri, Partner at Lightrock, AiDash’s full-stack software suite delivers substantial return on investment for customers while positively impacting communities and the environment. As the global climate emergency intensifies, the demand for such innovative solutions is expected to rise, positioning AiDash as a crucial player in mitigating risks from extreme weather, wildfires, and habitat destruction.
