Subsequently, he moved to I-Banking as head of the M&A division of a boutique investment bank in the ME. Here, he focused on customer finance and auto leasing businesses. After structuring the acquisition of one of the largest auto leasing companies in Turkey he moved to Istanbul. A few years later he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and returned to India at age 32 to set up TranzLease (TZL). Today, under his expert guidance, the company caters to multiple renowned MNCs and Indian blue-chip companies and now expanding into the retail segment.

The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic has not deterred TZL from its mission. Mr. Chakraborty helming the innovative drive proposes to continue the initiatives already in their natal stages since late 2019. Another milestone for TZL will be the soon to be launched revolutionary two-wheeler SMART EMI which will be the first of its kind product in India. As their visionary leader states, “Going forward our mission to give a packaged solution to the consumer for his car needs will include car auction platform, a collated purchase platform, a fully zero contact digital car delivery mechanism, etc.” He wants TZL to be a decisive part of each Indian customer’s decision-making when it comes to cars and bikes and the biggest contributor to this is perhaps TZL’s ability to offer solutions that is brand agnostic enabling consumers to really choose the right car under the right finance model without getting unduly biased and thus enabling a true rationale decision making.
