admin The Yangtze may only be the world’s third-longest river, but it’s about to be served by the world’s biggest river cruise ship.
The Victoria Sabrina ship will set sail on China’s largest inland body of water in 2020, ferrying passengers through multiple provinces and providing views of the Three Gorges Dam.
The Victoria Sabrina, due to make her maiden voyage in 2020, is a luxury ship that combines Western and Chinese design elements and it will be the world’s largest river cruise ship.
The 287-cabin Victoria Sabrina will also be the most extravagant vessel in its fleet and will sail Yangtze River in the spring. It will have six passenger decks apart from additional deck with a theater.
The Sabrina will have an open-concept floor plan with elegant modern decor that draws on Chinese tradition, designed in cooperation with nine research and design firms. Accommodations in Cruise will include 375-square-foot executive suites with VIP perks and 915-square-foot Shangri-La Suites with 1,320-square-foot balconies, 275-square-foot superior staterooms with private balconies.
According to Victoria, the ship will also be the first as a generation of ships that utilize electric power, save energy and provide the smoothest ride possible.
Victoria Cruises’ manager of public relations and customer service, Larry Greenman said, “Though our entire fleet of five-star ships received a complete overhaul since 2017 — including our 2009 build, the Victoria Jenna — this new ship is the first to take full advantage of the increased water level of the Yangtze as a result of the Three Gorges Dam.”
According to him access to excursions along the Yangtze and its tributaries will also been enhanced.Greenman further added, “The mist-shrouded Three Gorges are just as impressive, but the overall experience goes much deeper into the panoramic vistas and traditions of the region and its people with new excursions and unique on-shore entertainment.”
