United Airlines launches the ‘Travel-Ready Center’ to make the experience of flying simpler for travelers. The ‘Travel-Ready Center’ is a digital solution designed specifically to maneuver the Covis-19 travel restrictions. The Center is integrated into the airline’s mobile application as well as its website.
Operational Brilliance of the Platform
The ‘Travel-Ready Center’ will enable customers to review relevant Covid-19 entry requirements, find local testing options and upload any required testing and vaccination records for domestic and international travel, all in one place, via the United mobile app or website.
This Center will operate on an easy and user-friendly interface. Thus, travelers with confirmed reservations can access the ‘Travel-Ready Center’ through the ‘My Trips’ section of the United app or can visit their website. They are then provided with tailored details on requirements for all travellers 18 and older on a customer’s itinerary, with status indicators noting if they are ready to travel, based on the specific requirements each individual needs to meet in order to board their flight, including any additional requirements for connecting flights. The documents uploaded by travels will be subsequently verified by designated personnel. There are individual status indicators to convey to travelers whether are ready for travel or not. After this step is completed they will be allowed to conclude the other check-in formalities. However, customers should still plan to bring the physical documents to the airport in case further inspection is needed along their journey.
A Step to Make Travel Safe Again
Linda Jojo, Chief Digital Officer and EVP of Technology for United Airlines asserted, “While pre-travel testing and documentation are key to safely reopening global travel, we know it can be confusing for customers when they’re preparing for a flight. Our ‘Travel-Ready Center’ gives customers a personalized, step-by-step guide of what is needed for their trip, a simple way to upload required documents and quickly get their boarding pass, fully integrated within our app and website.” United Airlines has also announced its intentions to add more notable features to the platform, making it more convenient and impactful in the altered travel landscape.
