Egypt is offering five-year multiple entry visas to boost tourism in the country. This facility will be offered to more than 180 countries.
For the first time ever, the Egyptian Tourism Minister announced that Egypt will be offering a multiple entry visa for the first time and adding more nationalities to its visa-on-arrival eligibility. A five-year multiple-entry visa will be offered for $700, while a single-entry 30-day visa on arrival will be available for $25, which can now be obtained by more than 180 nationalities as per the latest reports.
The developments are a part of the stratergy to boost tourism, which was set back due to the Pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.Reports add that the country attracted 11.7 million tourists last year, which is expected to boost that number by 25 to 30% annually, and might likely go up to 30 million by 2028.
Ahmed Issa the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, referring to this added that, tourist numbers increased by more than 30% in January and February, as compared to the first two months of last year. Russia and Ukraine – the two leading tourist sources however, decreased by 40% and 80%, respectively, while other nationalities have made up for the loss.He further added that with the decrease of top two tourist sources, they are confident that they will be able to reach or surpass our goal by 2023.
Egypt will also make efforts to make entry procedures easier for Moroccans, Turks, Israelis, Algerians and Iranians, the details of which will be announced soon.
