Sidney Crosby sets another NHL record — this time at the dot

Sidney Crosby has added yet another milestone to his illustrious NHL career.

On Tuesday, during the Pittsburgh Penguins’ game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the 37-year-old captain secured his 15,183rd faceoff win, becoming the NHL’s all-time leader in faceoff wins.

Hailing from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Crosby claimed the title of “King of the Dot” from Boston Bruins icon Patrice Bergeron, achieving the record during the second period. The NHL began recording this statistic in the 1997-98 season.

Despite the Penguins holding a 3-1 lead in the third period, the Blue Jackets fought back to level the score, eventually securing a 4-3 victory in a shootout.

Crosby contributed two assists on the night, bringing his season totals to 33 assists and 11 goals for 44 points in 42 games.
