On Sunday evening, Pele’s record was once again broken by legendary Cristiano Ronaldo as Juventus defeated Udinese 4-1. Two runs were scored by Cristiano Ronaldo making his goal tally reach a total of 785 goals, which is one more than Pele.
This win was very important for Juventus as such after having been defeated once in this season. This win secured them the fifth position as of now in the chart and gave them a fighting chance.
The goals of Cristiano Ronaldo are 656- Clubs and 102- National tally. Comparing these to Pele’s, they were 680-Clubs and 77- National team.
Pele who held the second spot before this, has had an illustrious career as well with a total of 757 gaols between the years 1956 and 1977. He now occupies the third spot on this table.
Ronaldo is just one goal away from being the top-most scorer, that is the first spot holder Josef Bican has a total of 759 goals.
Possibly, we could look at another record-break in this very week if Ronaldo manages to score two more goals. Ronaldo debuted as a professional footballer in the year 2002 and now is of 35 years. he was a real champion for the Real Madrid where he played around 438 games and scored 450 goals for the team.
Presently in Juventus, he has scored a total of 83 goals in more than 100 matches, 104 to be precise.
For Portugal, he has been one lucky player scoring a whopping 102 goals in 120 matches and in all likelihood, the number of goals secured is all set to increase, thereby raising the bar even further.
His career now spans for about 18 years and what a career it has been, his average is better than almost any other player football has ever seen, 42 goals per season, for the country as well as the club.
Ronaldo is breaking records everywhere, maybe it be on or off-field. Recently, he became the only person on Instagram which is a social media platform to have 250 million followers.
