PepsiCo Backed Yofix Raised $2.5 million in Series A Funding

Yofix is a plant-based yogurt company, headquartered in Israel, earned a whopping 100,000 euros in a grant by PepsiCo’s European Nutrition Greenhouse Program in 2019, got a $2.5 million Series A funding.

AG, the German-based Muller Ventures, the U.S. based LionTree, and the French Bel Group, were leading the funding and are going to give Yofix important leverage for expansion on a global basis from its current portfolio, and will further help in expanding into other dairy-free categories.

Steve Grun, CEO of Yofix, said that the increased portfolio is supposed to include yogurt shakes, frozen desserts and milk alternatives.

“Receiving the financial investment by such prominent multinational players of the dairy industry is an endorsement of trust and confidence in our products and technology,” he said.

He added, “This fresh influx opens the door to new possibilities. Over the next few years, we will focus strategic efforts on expanding our line of dairy alternatives … into the global market,” he added. “The prospects are boundless.”

Yofix performed well under PepsiCo’s six-month program in which it scaled its business. It built a new factory and launched countless products across Israel and had a plan too strategically scale the business internationally.

Dairy-free food products are increasingly and undeniably on demand. The number of vegetarians and Vegans is also increasing but it is still just a small part of the total population. The meat-free and dairy-free products are increasingly being associated with being healthy and this has provided a boost to the industry.

Till now the conditions have been the growth of the dairy-free industry has been profound and they are growing with the publication of the latest researches and innovations in the food technology industry.
