Amul milk is now officially available in Spain. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) has partnered with Cooperativa Ganadera del Valle de los Pedroches (COVAP) to bring Amul milk in Spain. The launch marks Amul’s significant expansion across European markets. The product was introduced at the Embassy of India in Madrid.
To begin with, Amul Gold full cream milk will be sold in tetra packs with a six-month shelf life. The initial launch cities include Madrid and Barcelona. Gradually, distribution will extend to Malaga, Valencia, Alicante, Seville, and Cordoba. Furthermore, Amul milk will also reach Lisbon, Portugal, in the next phase. This move will help Amul tap into key Spanish-speaking markets.
COVAP, Amul’s Spanish partner, is a strong cooperative founded in 1959. Based in Pozoblanco, Cordoba, it has over 2,000 farmer-members. Its dairy facility processes more than 400 million litres of milk yearly. Moreover, COVAP exports to 30+ countries, including the US and UK. Their advanced infrastructure ensures product quality and seamless delivery across the region.
The launch event saw the presence of notable dignitaries. These included Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of GCMMF, and Dinesh K Patnaik, Indian Ambassador to Spain. Also present were Ricardo Delgado Vizcaino, President of COVAP, and Spanish government officials. The collaboration symbolizes a milestone in Indo-Spanish trade relations.
