Ringo Starr the world famous Beatles drummer, announced on Thursday that he is calling off his remaining shows in North America after testing positive again for COVID-19. Ringo starr, is an English musician, singer, songwriter and actor who achieved international fame as a drummer for Beatles.
82 year The Beatles drummer, had earlier cancelled some dates with All Starr band after catching the virus. Initially on 3 October Ringo Starr found positive for Corona virus for the first time. He cancelled his performances in several states of US including Michigan and Minnesota and Canada also after catching COVID but later he twitted “I am negative, peace and love everybody, Thanks for waiting. Ringo.” and did his comeback after a negative test report.
Later, On Thursday, he twitted “I’m sure you’ll be as surprised as I was tested positive again for COVID the rest of the tour is off I send you peace and love Ringo.” Shows has been planned in California- including Los Angeles and Mexico.
Starr occasionally sang lead vocals with the group usually for one song on each album. He wrote and sang the Beatles songs “Don’t Pass Me By” , “Octopus’s Garden” ,“Yellow Submarine” and “With a Little Help from My Friends” and gives credits to co-writers of four others. The liverpudlian rose to fame in the 1960, after quitting the Hurricanes to replace Pete Best as the Beatles drummer in 1962 shortly they got worldwide success.
After that they split the band in 1970 and launched his solo career successfully and released several successful singles including US top 10 hits “It don’t come easy” , “Photograph” and “ You’re Sixteen and later he formed the All Starr Band in 1989. In 2015, He was initiated into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist and in 2018, he received his courtesy for service to music. “I’ll be wearing it at breakfast. “Ringo said of his medal and also mentioned that he is missing his bandmates more than 50 years after they were all awarded the MBE.
