It is being hoped that the situation by then would show considerable improvement, now that the vaccine has been administered in the United States.
The tentative date for the event now stands 14th of March in Los Angeles where prominent singers like Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift have been nominated for awards. The nominations for the Grammy’s event was announced in the month of November with great anticipation that the event would take place in January.
It is without a doubt the biggest night for the music industry where various singers are awarded for their contribution to the music industry. This year a significant change has also been seen where the urban category has been removed from the category.
The Recording Academy said in a statement that at this point of time nothing holds more significance than the health of the citizens and this decision has been taken keeping the current rise of cases in mind.
There are hundreds of people that are working behind the scenes tirelessly to ensure the smooth functioning of the show.
The comedian Trevor Noah was all set to host this award show but now with the changed circumstances, it remains to be seen whether he would go forward with his commitment or not.
The only problem now being encountered is that this new date for the Grammy’s clashes with the Screen Actors’ Guild awards that were announced earlier. The SAG organisation is disappointed by this move and say that expected support from their fellow sister organisations in the industry.
It is expected that this issue shall be solved in the days to come and both these award functions can take place without any form of interruption. Other major award functions even the Oscars and Golden Globe awards stand postponed as of now. There is however no news of conducting them virtually.
