Bagging Seven Awards, Oppenheimer Wins Over All

Christopher Nolan’s another masterpiece, Oppenheimer has proved its worth in the Oscars 2024 by being the best movie to win seven prizes which includes best picture and best director.

The film which also bagged Oscars for Cilian Murphy’s haunted lead performance playing the character of J. Robert Oppenheimer and Robert Downey Jr. ‘s supporting turn as a vengeful character.

“We made a film about the man who created the atomic bomb, and for better or for worse, we’re all living in Oppenheimer’s world,” Murphy said in his acceptance speech.

Nolan, having a mazey past with Oscars, had been nominated multiple times before Oppenheimer, for his other films. This included directing for the movie which was released in 2017, Dunkirk. This also comes with 2001’s movies Memento and 2010’s Inception. But the academy snubbed his biggest hit in 2008’s movie “The Dark Knight” which was said to be the best picture and director and with this, there was an increase in the number of films nominated for best of the year from five to ten. After holding his very own Oscar in his hands, Nolan has not stopped being a witness to the big screen experience and thoroughly appreciated the art form he loves and enjoys.

”Movies are just a little bit over 100 years old,” he mentioned. And then Nolan added: “We don’t know where this incredible journey is going from here, but to know that you think that I’m a meaningful part of it means the world to me.”
