APOS Media summit was to be a three-day event between April 21-23 at the Ayanna Resort and Spa which is in the Indonesian province of Bali. This event is an annual deal and always takes place in the same province.
APOS is considered to be one of the leading media and entertainment industry summit of Asia and it now has fallen to the global health epidemic–Coronavirus. The organizers, Media Partners Asia (MPA) announced that this event was moved from April to September. It will take place between 1st and 3rd September.
Bill Holmes, Netflix’s global head of business development and Kevin Mayer, chairman, direct-to-consumer and international at the Walt Disney Co. were the Key Note speakers for last year’s summit. APOS tends to attract big names of the regional and international entertainment and media domain into its summit. One edition observed Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix as its guest speaker.
APOS is not the first in the entertainment industry to postpone its events amidst coronavirus outbreak and fears of spreading. Early in February, the Hong Kong International Film Festival and Hong Kong Filmart, much-celebrated film festivals of Asia, took the toll of Coronavirus and were postponed. The Film Festival is yet to get a confirmed future date while Filmart revised dates are in August between 27-29 August.
Last week, we saw Far East Festival of Italy moving to June 26-July 4 from April 24-May 2. This will be its 22nd edition.
