Headway Towards Revolutionising Technology and Innovation in 2022

Technology and innovation have helped humans intersect many worlds. They both go hand in hand. Humans have discovered and made new innovations from time immemorial. Like fashion Trends technology also has trends that invite unique perspectives, empowerment, knowledge, awareness, access and community, and set a mark in society. Technology has made our lives faster, better, easier and a lot more fun. One of the main reasons for the Industrial Revolution was the invention and application of new technologies. Technology has now taken a new face after the COVID pandemic, as digitization increased and more and more services are provided online. Every year there are newer technologies being introduced that set the market trend, the same way there are many technological trends that are doing the rounds in 2022 like

Artificial Intelligence Powered Cybersecurity

This is a tech solution to safeguard companies from cybercrimes such as Hacking, email phishing scams, and viruses. AI is still in trend because of its image and speech recognition, navigation apps, smartphone personal assistants, ride-sharing apps, and a lot more.

Artificial intelligence is also used to provide personalised recommendations to people, based on their previous searches and purchase or other online behaviour. Siri, Alexa, self-driving cars, email spam filters, Netflix’s recommendations are first-hand experience of Artificial Intelligence in our lives. A simple question answered by Alan Turing, whether machines can ‘think’ established the fundamental goal and vision of artificial intelligence.

5-G

5G is the fifth-generation technology standard for broadband cellular networks, which cellular phone companies began deploying worldwide in 2019, and is the planned successor to the 4G networks which provide connectivity to most current cell phones. Verizon 5G utilises millimetre wave technology. These millimetre waves exist on an extremely high frequency and are considered millimetre waves because the wavelength range between 1 and 10 mm. 5G is based on a method of modulating a digital signal across several different channels to reduce interference. By 2025, 5G will account for 21% of mobile internet connections. This is a significant jump, up from less than 10% last year, as per the latest predictions by the GSMA. The main driving factor of this rapid adoption will be the significant investment by mobile operators, which will dedicate more than 80% of their capital expenditure on building 5G infrastructure between now and 2025, according to the telco industry body prediction.

Computing power

More and more businesses are now adopting cloud solutions as it is the on-demand availability of computer system resources, especially data storage and computer power, without direct active management by the user. The cloud offers faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale. The internet acts as an invisible cable that connects everything. Hardware failures do not result in data loss because of networked backups. Cloud computing uses remote resources, saving organisations the cost of servers and other equipment. The number of cloud storage providers online are growing day by day for example, Instagram, Facebook, Gmail etc. Cloud computing makes it easier to share files with several people at the same time and helps to store all types of information in the cloud, including files and emails.

Quantum computing

Quantum computers allow storage and processing of data that we cannot even comprehend. They solve much more complex calculations which would take years on a classical computer. They can run complex simulations and replace laboratory experiments; they reduce the cost of research and even minimise the need for human and animal testing. Quantum computing has helped society in various ways such as making smarter investment decisions, developing drugs, vaccines faster, and revolutionising transportation. It is a rapidly emerging technology that harnesses the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems and provide better information.

Automation

Automation is the use of electronics and computer-controlled devices to assume control of processes. The aim of automation is to boost efficiency and reliability. In most cases, however, automation replaces labour. Repetitive tasks can be completed faster. Automating processes ensures high quality results as each task is performed identically, without human error.  And it can operate 24/7 without any loss of energy or motivation. For example, Chopping, peeling, blending, mixing, etc. everything was done by hand, but in the present world, it has become very easy to cook and serve. The reason is that most of the appliances that we use in modern kitchens are automatic. Power backup devices are another example of automation. When the regular power supply goes off, devices like UPS, inverters, etc. directly connect us to the stored backup power.

Further enhancement of Technology will lead to a change in the trends in technology and more and more relevant technology will be introduced and used accordingly.
