Digging in Digital Dynamics: Apps which Millennials Must Have

Be it for research purposes or for app development projects, one always wonders whether which app will be suitable for millennials or apps which they prefer using, as this generation’ s interests are immensely influential for the success of an application as the millennials are the primary users of these apps as they make the biggest working age group among all other generations. This is why maintaining interest and involvement of the millennials is crucial for the triumph of your future application.

Some other Significant Reasons Why Millennials should be the Target –

  • They are active mobile users
  • They are willing to try and experiment new things and applications
  • They are adept in communicating real-time events
  • Millenials are digital natives who are involved a lot in technology
  • They are also the single largest media target audience
  • Millennials are said to be the dominant and huge group of smartphone users as compared to the other generations at the moment

Comprehensive Analysis of a Multifaceted Generation

Millennials are also known as the Gen Y as they are following Gen X and preceding Gen Z and are known to have been born in early 1980s and Gen Z starts from 1990s to 2000s. So, they are born between 1981 and 1996 which makes their age group from 28 to 43. As these are the age groups which are more likely to be working age groups, they are the ones who have the capacity to buy, generate downloads, create revenue and the group which is in charge, they are the main targets which will shift to the next generation in a few years.

They are also the earliest adopters of social media, and therefore are the most engaged ones here as they grew up with fast technological changes.

Apps which Caught Millennials’ Attention

1. Facebook

Facebook, as we all know, was extremely popular in earlier days and almost everyone had started using it daily. The Millennial generation was the first one to use it regularly and with ease as compared to the older generations. It is noted that Facebook is used regularly by over 80% of Millennials, as compared to Gen Z who only use it for roughly 36%. It helps them to connect with their friends, family and other communities in an innovative and convenient way which makes Facebook the most liked application for Millennials.

2. YouTube

According to a report, YouTube is the second best used application after facebook which is also most commonly used by the Millennials as compared to the other generations. This is because Millennials can get video-based content for entertainment and educational purposes. They can also stay up to date using YouTube by simply looking up on what is happening in the world wherever and whenever.

3. Instagram

Still popularly used by the new generations, this also has the hearts of the Millennials. Millennials account for almost 50% of Instagram users. With the new and improved features which were earlier not available on Facebook, Instagram keeps its users engaged with tools like reels, stories, filters for pictures, and many more.

4. Twitter

Over 80% of Twitter users are Millennials and even though the craze about Twitter has died down a little in the last few years, it still has a firm hold over Millennials and they are still quite fixated on it.

5. Airbnb

The majority of Airbnb users are also Millennials which is 66%. This is because the older generations are not much into traveling and sharing strangers’ homes. On the other hand, all Gen Zs are not yet likely to take full advantage of this application as some are still not adults.

Airbnb provides a cheap and useful source of escape for the ones who are looking forward to their vacations where they can get unique traveling experiences and also save money by getting affordable yet decent stays in almost any corner of the world.

Wrapping things up, Millennials were the ones who first explored some of the most useful and dynamic applications and are still the most active generation in using these applications regularly. Even though older generations as well as the next generations will also greatly help you with engagement, it is evident that Millennials will noticeably be more likely to help you succeed. In this fast paced world if people get an application which is quick and easy to learn, working age groups will definitely give it a try to find a good solution to their problems which should be the main focus. Millennials always go for an app which provides useful and valuable services, entertains them, and also provides informative content.
