Burberry and BFC Team Up for a Brand-New Initiative on Leftover Fabrics

The British Fashion Council (BFC) and Burberry have teamed up for an initiative like never before. The primary aim of this program will be to use and launch the Burberry fabrics that have been kept aside as leftovers. These leftovers by the luxury brand will be provided to fashion students all across the country who are in dire need of it.

The main aim of the BFC will be to oversee the distribution and logistics of these fabrics and making sure that these are shipped in the correct manner all through Britain. It will do so with the Institute of Positive Fashion and College Council.

Burberry also cleared that it is working with BFC to ensure fair access to these fabrics by the people who require it the most and in this way all donation can also be easily centralised.

Burberry’s vice president of corporate responsibility Pam Betty said in a statement that were delighted and glad to have partnered with the BFC in order to launch the ReBurberry fabrics. This initiative is way by which Burberry ensures that it is meaningfully supporting the generation that is to come by addressing to their voices all across the country.

Burberry feels that if they donate their leftover fabrics, it will be a win-win situation as by this way, they can give to the society in a meaningful manner while giving others the opportunity to bring out their creativity and continue making fashion grow.

This will be an industry wide program and there is hope that the other brands will look up to Burberry and initiate something similar.

This comes as a response to the increasing scrutiny in the sector of fashion, where meaningful efforts are being put to save any talent in fashion from going to waste.

BFC also remarked that it was very delighted to be working with Burberry and providing students across colleges these opportunities. They also feel that creative talent is the very heart of the fashion industry and being able to contribute towards it is a great feeling.
