admin Marie Kondo, an international fame for encouraging people to untide their homes and minds using the KonMari method – launched the store on her website.
The star of a hit Netflix show and author of the bestselling book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up’ Marie in a message posted on the site explained that with the right items in one’s home, more really can be less.
She said, “The KonMari method isn’t about getting rid of things. It’s about heightening your sensitivity to what brings you joy. Once you’ve completed your tidying, there is room to welcome meaningful objects, people and experiences into your life.”
Claiming the idea for the store came from people who asked her what items she liked to have around the house and Kondo said, “I am not trying to promote consumerism. What’s most important to me is that you surround yourself with items that spark joy. If the bowl that you’re using currently sparks joy for you, I don’t encourage replacing it at all.”
There will be more than 150 products available in the shop which is a mix of carefully and personally selected goods by Marie, all of which are designed for living a more intentional, peaceful, and organized life.
The range of items in the store is impressive launched with six categories like Decor & Living, Tidying & Organizing, Tabletop, Cooking & Kitchen, Aromatherapy, and Bath Essentials. From smaller items to help one stay tidy like dustpan and broom, to entertaining essentials like the donabe, which Marie mentioned is exceptionally popular for winter entertaining in Japan. One of the things that sets her shop apart from other outlets is that many of the items are selected to last forever.
Kondo expanded her lifestyle brand and turned it into a hub for all things Marie Kondo, called The Shop at KonMari. We can also expect new products to hit these virtual shelves every month. It’s a highly-curated, uber-stylish, and majorly chic collection of lifestyle items and homewares.
