Almost a year and a half back, Chris Pratt was announced to be starring in Ghost Draft which is a sci-fi thriller that finds humanity fighting against an alien attack. To help fight the war they figure out a way to draft soldiers from the past when it looks like humanity is on the ropes. Now this movie production is underway and the movie has a new name: The Tomorrow War with various and extremely talented cast.
It has set a Christmas Day 2020 release date. The Paramount film follows a man who is drafted to fight a future war in which the fate of humanity may rely on his ability to correct issues of the past.
Betty Gilpin, Yvonne Strahovski, Mary Lynn Rajskub and J.K. Simmons, also star in the movie. Chris McKay is directing the film. Universal’s historical drama News of the World, starring Tom Hanks will face off against The Tomorrow War. Ellison’s company is best known for the “Mission: Impossible” and Star Trek movie franchises, and it recently opened Terminator: Dark Fate and Gemini Man.
Director Chris McKay who is best known for his work in animation with The LEGO Batman Movie and Robot Chicken, directing The Tomorrow War, which is written by Zach Dean (Deadfall). In the future, Chris McKay also planning to direct some kind of Nightwing movie so he’s clearly ready to break into the live-action side of filmmaking. With Skydance financing and Paramount Pictures distributing The Tomorrow War is being produced by Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, David Ellison, David S. Goyer, Jules Daly, and Adam Kolbrenner. Its upcoming schedule includes two more Mission: Impossible pics and Top Gun: Maverick. Pratt became a worldwide star after headlining Disney-Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies as Star-Lord/Peter Quill and the Jurassic World films as dinosaur handler Owen. McKay made his feature directorial debut on Lego Batman.
