Ratan Tata was a remarkable business magnate and philanthropist whose influence profoundly shaped India’s economic landscape. Revered for his humility and modest nature, he was one of the country’s most globally recognised business figures. Leading the Tata Group for over two decades, Tata retired at 75 in 2012, leaving a lasting legacy of integrity and innovation.
Tata was an exemplary industry leader, admired for his strong business acumen and ethical vision, steering clear of major controversies. His leadership transformed his family business into a global giant, with revenues surpassing 100 billion dollars in 2011-12 during his tenure.

However, this success story didn’t come without its hurdles. Ratan Tata showed immense courage, taking on significant acquisitions despite the risks. When he succeeded JRD Tata as Chairman of Tata Sons and the Tata Trusts in 1991, he began restructuring the Tata Group at a time when India was opening its doors to economic liberalisation.
