On November 5, more than 75 people forewent Bonfire Night festivities, taking to the rink at Icescape at the Tropicana to raise £378.50 for the Weston charity.
All entry fees went directly to the foodbank, with a least donation set at £5 for all skaters.
Mayor of Weston, Cllr Michael Lyall, who selected Weston Foodbank as his charity of the year shortly after taking office, was also in attendance.
He stated: “I was delighted to see people having fun and at the same time helping the food bank to raise much-needed funds.”
“There was a good turnout for the skating session donated to us by Icescape.”
“The central ward has been a passion of mine for 15 years.”
“The best way I can help is by supporting a charity that directly assists people in the area and the foodbank does just that,” he added.
