The Preston-based café was started by Usman Hussain, 29, in march 2022, although it came in limelight recently after the post went viral on social media. “I think it’s a nice reminder to use manners, because unfortunately sometimes we do need reminding,” Usmaan told the newspaper based in the UK.
He also shared that he got this inspirational idea years back from an American café that shared a post on Facebook that implemented the same rule. He said, “I decided to bring the idea into our café as it is best suited for our concept.” Just after he put up the sign, the staff at the cafe found people coming in and being friendly. Some people laugh but that’s ok, it still works and make reminds them about manners. Lots of people in the morning can be quite rude as they are in rush but after watching the sign it makes them think and be polite with staff.
“Any negativity gets out of the entrance, That’s what this idea is about,” said Café owner Usmaan Hussain.
