admin The highly popular brand Jaguar has said in a statement that they are planning to manufacture only electric cars by the year 2025. This comes in as it plans to incorporate the new strategy.
Electric cars are expected to become the norm in the coming years given the pollution that the normal cars cause on a daily basis.
The chief executive of Jaguar Thierry Bollore remarked that they are planning for the long term but at the same time did not give out details about the same. This paradigm shift towards electric cars will prove to be highly expensive for Jaguar as they plan on investing 2.5 billion euros in merely a year for shifting to this new technology and powering the new generation of cars.
This may be an extremely bold move but it is what was required. The new market trends suggest that electric cars would dominate the entire market while the other cars will be done away with.
This move by Jaguar therefore only seems the logical one. However, this road of shifting to electric cars will not be as easy at it looks. It will require loop some efforts and marketing to make a place in the hearts of the consumers.
The UK Government has also made its intentions with respect to the automobile sector very clear. By the year 2030, they wish to have no petrol or diesel cars running on the roads. Therefore, sooner or later all the brands in the sector will have to align their energies towards it.
If the government truly stands on what it proposing, it is very much possible that the sale of petrol as well as diesel will be banned in UK making the cars inaccessible and unusable for the people.
In November last year, Bentley had also made clear its intentions of becoming all-electric by the year 2030. General motors also said that it had a well-set plan in action to cut down on the emission levels and bring them down to zero by the year 2035.
