Create a joyful environment, even when stress and pressure are high. Always find something to laugh about as a team. Humour is a superpower in business, use it to your advantage. – AnaMaria Meshkurti
About the Leader
AnaMaria Meshkurti has always been fascinated with technology. Her journey began from getting her bachelor’s degree in international relations from Hult International Business school, then completing her masters in Marketing and Communications from Rome Business School, and her MBA at the University of Geneva. After a long career in tech she decided to co-invest and take the role of Board Member at VR4 Business – A virtual Reality Business company as she believes VR continues to impact us all.
The qualities she has invoked within herself are, learning to deal with people and investors, having good knowledge of when to let go of deals, being an active listener and a caring attitude. She cares for all the people she knows and works with. She is very active in sourcing the best deals out there when it comes to tech startups and working together with investors and companies to find the right fit.
Team-Building Experience
Meshkurti believes that having the right team by your side for any startup is very significant. A team together must realise if they don’t have the right product-market fit and understand the direction a change in the trajectory is needed.
When asked about her experience of crisis with her team she states that, “When issues arise and the going gets tough, you will notice the change in your team and a decrease in morale. This is where the power of humour comes in. Create a joyful environment, even when stress and pressure are high. Always find something to laugh about as a team. Humour is a superpower in business, use it to your advantage.”
Meshkurti believes leadership styles vary. One needs to find their own philosophy, the one that works best for themselves. Be your authentic self, even if it sounds cliché, it is what will work best in the long run.
AnaMaria Meshkurti continues to be involved in technology-innovative products and startups, following her passion she has paved the way for many women to bring their dreams to a reality. She is now looking to give back to her native Albania by creating opportunities with startups and investors there.
