The University of Birmingham and IIT Madras Declared Joint Master Programmes

The eminent Indian Institute of Madras and the UK’s University of Birmingham announced a joint venture on Wednesday regarding Post Graduation courses and conducting research in data science, biomedical engineering, and energy system. The first program will be launched next year and further courses will be developed in subsequent years, addressed in a statement released in the press.

The Masters’s program will be delivered in both institutions and mutual recognition of academic remarks will be issued by each university will lead to the honor of a single degree certificate, prospered IIT Madras. Professor Adam Tickell, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Birmingham, and Professor V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras have signed a treaty of intent. The agreement was built upon the Memorandum of understanding (MoU) in February 2022.

The Universities have also agreed to establish a joint research fund to help academics and researchers as they explore potential research partnerships in biomedical engineering, data science, and energy systems, propound IIT Madras. “This joint venture avail students the opportunity to pursue a top-class education and fruitful learning in globally leading Universities in both countries and also have their academic achievements considered by both.” Said Professor Adam Tickell in a press release.

This will be a beneficiary step for the students who wish to receive a single degree recognized by both universities. Such achievements make a robust impact in the world of the avant-garde education system. Students can acknowledge salutary lessons due to academic flexibility to learn and work in the current area that would determine the promising future of global engineering and technologies.
