Billie Eilish Makes 62nd Grammy All About Her

Billie Eilish was already expected to win awards as she went into the 62nd Grammy Awards, but she out-won everybody’s expectations as she made a clean sweep in the big four categories.

Album, Record, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, all at once. She is just the second person to do so in the 62-year history of Grammy Awards. The only other person was Christopher Cross who did it in 1980 and was 28 years old. She is 10 years younger than him and turned 18 just a month ago.

She got best Album Award for ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’, and grabbed both the Song of the Year and Record of the Year for her Global Phenomenon ‘Bad Guy’.

She was surprised to her core as she got on stage with her brother Finneas O’Connell who is also the producer.

She looked emotional as she said, “Mainly I think the fans deserve everything. I feel like they have not been talked about enough tonight because they’re the only reason any of us are here at all. So thanks to the fans…God, this is so crazy. I know that all the other artists that were in this category, I love you all, you guys are amazing. You deserve this just as much as I do. And I know your fans are hardcore and they’re going to fight for you guys. So I love all fandoms, thank you to its fans. You guys make this worth it. So thank you.”

She is now the youngest to win the Best New Artist Award as she broke Taylor Swift’s record. Swift won the award in 2010 at the age 20 for ‘Fearless’.

Other than these big four, she won an award for Best Pop Vocal Album for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?. She lost in just one category she was nominated for, Best Pop Solo Performance, which went to Lizzo for ‘Truth Hurts’.
