According to the report from Windows Central, Snapchat has made its debut on Microsoft Store as a Progressive Web App. It will run on Microsoft’s Chromium-based Microsoft Edge. The size of the app is about 1.4MB and it carries features same akin to the web version. Snapchat, the instant messaging and image-sharing app stayed long away from the Window based System. Although, things are changing now in a progressive way.
If anyone wants to use Snapchat messages and stories from their Windows laptop, Snapchat’s Progressive Web App (PWA) has to be downloaded from the Microsoft Store and it is available without any charges for downloading. It will be added as an app icon in the start menu and notification support same as other apps as it runs through Windows 10 and Windows 11 official web browsers of Microsoft Edge. Customers can pin the app to the Start menu or the taskbar to access it quickly.
Apart from this debut, the company also announced a tie-up with Amazon to serve AR try-on experience to customers. Now the E-commerce track will permit Snapchat users to try eyewear styles from a range of various renowned brands around the world. Ray-ban, Persol, Maui Jim, Oakley, and Costa Del Mar are some brands included among others.
Other brands like MAC Cosmetics, Ultra Beauty, Walmart, LVMH, Chanel, Puma, and many more also initiated collaboration with Snapchat’s AR Shopping Lenses. The partnership between both companies comes after Snapchat currently rolled out several upgrades appealing to brands such as updating product information about pricing, creating AR shopping lenses, and much more. The inauguration of the eyewear collection will introduce different shopping lenses which will be categorized as Seasonal glasses, Sunglasses, and Reading glasses.
Other than these features customers can now access their contacts and chat with them and also see their Snaps. Users can video chat with family and friends on Snapchat for PC, as well.
