An unusual phenomenon known as a space hurricane was seen swirling above the surface of the earth for the first time ever. These hurricanes however can be categorised as a storm in the upper atmospheres that have been created by either the charged particles in the atmosphere or the solar wind.
For quite a long period of time, the scientists have been talking about such a phenomenon but there was no proof regarding the same. Now, they not only witnessed it first-hand built also managed to capture various images of the same to study it even further. The researchers like to call this phenomenon as a plasma space hurricane.
The swirling mass of plasma, that is the space hurricane was seen above the North Pole and this mass is being commonly referred to as a space hurricane because there is a startling resemblance of this swirling mas with that of a hurricane.
The plasma was 600 mile wide making it extremely strong and powerful and it went on for a period of more than eight hours. A team of international scientists at the Shandong University among others in China confirmed the presence if this huge mass of plasma over the surface of the earth and this now raises a number of questions for the scientists like the relationship that the planets have with the space and other phenomenon like these hurricanes takes place in the space that are unknown to us.
All of this has been made possible because of the observations that were made by a satellite in the year 2014 and are being studied now. The observations gave the scientists an opportunity to create a 3D image of the mass of plasma and better understand the space hurricanes.
There are a lot of plasma and magnetic fields found all across the atmosphere making it widely possible that these space hurricanes are in fact not rare but quite widespread throughout space. These space hurricanes have now opened the door for more advanced study of the space and its adjacent phenomenon.
