The Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has reached 3000 T20 runs, the highest for any batsman. He managed to achieve this feat in a match against Australia in the current series being played at India. It was a stellar match for Virat Kohli who managed to make 73 runs off of just 49 balls.
With this, India also managed to win the match and make it level with a score of 1-1 in a five-match series. The second person on this list of runs is Martin Guptill who is a New Zealand cricketer and skipper who has a run count of 2,839 in the international T20 matches. the third position is again taken by an Indian Player Rohit Sharma who is also currently the vice-captain of the cricket team with 2,773 runs.
Virat Kohli has been a manganous player and with this, he has added another feather to his cap.
The current series had Test Matches prior to this, which India managed to win 4-1, currently the T20s are being played and after this they teams will move on to play the ODIs.
The matches are being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujrat, India which is the largest stadium in the world opened just recently.
Interestingly, the skipper was 72 runs away from achieving this milestone and in the T20 he played recently, he managed to get 73 runs that too with a not-out status. The number of matches that Virat Kohli took to reach this milestone is 87 much less than the people who come 2nd and 3rd on the list with 99 and 108 matches respectively.
In this particular match, he hit five boundaries and three sixes to reach his score and there was some excellent running between the wickets involved as well.
Virat Kohli has an average of 50.86 to reach this score. As per the other records, he is tied with Rickey Ponting for the most centuries in international cricket in all forms by the captain of the team.
