The footage that has been received has been compared to a movie landing because of the supersonic parachute inflation that took place over the surface of Mars. The touchdown on the surface of the red planet by perseverance was a very gentle one and over the vast basin that has been found on Mars – Jezero Crater.
This footage has given us a clear picture of what it feels like to land on Mars and a scientist at NASA after reviewing the footage received exclaimed that this video is the closest that a normal individual can get to for the landing on Mars. If not this, then for a better experience you would have to put on a pressure suit.
This footage comes in four days after the landing of the rover on the red planet. This Rover that has been sent to Mars by NASA is historic in more ways than the video alone. It is the most advanced astrobiology probe that has been sent to another planet or world altogether. It is an achievement in itself, and with the video, it just keeps getting better.
Not only this, a very brief audio clip has also been released by the NASA scientists that has been captured by the microphones that were placed on the Rover itself. The sound primarily had a light wind gust sound that was going on at the red planet. This is the first time that sound has been recorded and brought back to Earth from Mars. Although, the scientists at NASA were expecting more especially during the descent of the rover on the surface of the planet mars.
