admin Facebook is working to launch a new version of Instagram that would primarily cater to children below the age of 13 years. This step comes in lieu of the fact that this app has already been looking and increasing the features for better protection for the youth from any potential hackers or other elements on the internet.
A detailed plan is not in place yet for understanding what this new version of Instagram would mean. the head of Instagram Adam Mosseri has however confirmed that they are running a few sample ideas to see how this new plan lays out. Instagram wants to increase the number of users especially children who otherwise do not come to the app.
But while doing so, they want to ensure a good user experience for every child that wishes to be on the app. the version will allow for transparency. This will allow the children to have another form of entertainment because as per the current policy of Instagram, children below the age of thirteen years cannot make an account on the app.
A Facebook spokesperson also said that a lot of children nowadays want to be connected to their friends and are not allowed to do so because of the non-availability of any form of app. this app would bridge that gap for the children and help them keep up with their friends and their activities.
This new feature would include certain new things that the kids are most likely to enjoy and new hobbies and interests can be created for them. For the teens using Instagram as well, a number of new policies have been put into place to make sure that they can have a smooth experience on the app.
One major milestone that this new app would have to overcome is legality. Most laws will not allow kids under 13 to be on social media apps and therefore the team at Instagram would have to come up with something creative to get their way around these laws.
