International travel has not been functional in various countries from quite some time, but with the coming of the vaccinations, it could restart again. The Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has also confirmed the news that Australia plans to open up international travel by the month of October.
According to its plan, majority of the population will be inoculated by then. This recommendation has come in from the expert panel at Australia and the authorities said that travel would only begin once the vaccinations are done.
He said that the other guidelines like quarantining of the passengers is something that authorities would decide once the travel is reopened but at the same time, it is expected that the passengers if required to quarantine would be home otherwise there might not be a need for the same. ‘
The Prime Minister said that the world is vaccinating its populations and therefore travel could be possible and he also stated that the aviation department is all prepped up to begin travel whenever the authorities clear it.
Australia wants the process of travel to start slow and steadily and is no rush. The population of Australia is also limited therefore it might be possible to vaccinate the entire adult population till October, however that would depend on the vaccination supplies available.
According to authorities, Australia is all decked up to go on the road of normalcy and opening up of international travel and the restrictions on the border is the first step that needs to be taken.
Currently, two vaccines have been approved in Australia, the Oxford Astrazeneca Covishield and Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine. Other vaccines like Moderna and Johnson and Johnsons vaccine might also be approved.
This would possibly make travel possible for all citizens again. A few travel bubbles like ones with New Zealand are already in place and the citizens from the both the countries have been allowed to travel with almost no restrictions. The government is keen on opening up all travel by the month of October.
