Apple is in headlines with its unique marketing strategy as it partners with the selected gyms of US namely Orangetheory, Basecamp Fitness, YMCA and Crunch Fitness and many more to be added to that quickly. It plans to offer perks to apple watch users according to predefine workout completion or calories burned in a certain amount of time.
Any GYM can join the program until it provides all the offers and benefits to its customers. It is also compulsory for any gym willing to become a member to accept Apple Pay to pay and get rewards via Apple watch and/or iPhone.
With the addition of GymKit in 2017 and recent up-gradation of WatchOS and Apple Watch technology, workout detection has become much easier and sophisticated.
There are multiple layers to this program. It is flexible according to Apple’s deal with different Fitness Chains. For example: At Orangetheory, you will get Apple and Nike gift cards on the completion set goals. While at Crunch, you will get up to $300 off on two years plus membership.
YMCA is first rolling out the program to its St. Paul Midway location before bringing it to 21 other Twin Cities clubs over the next couple of weeks. Both Crunch Fitness and Orangetheory are starting with two locations each in Manhattan. Basecamp is launching the program at all six of its clubs. It is a strong probability that your nearby gym may not offer you these perks for a while.
This project is beneficial to every party involved in the deal. Be it Apple, the fitness chain, or the Apple Watch owners, it is a win-win for all.
