Monica Aldama, coaching cheer squads for years has been lucky lately as a six-part Netflix documentary series is all about her process of making the Navarro College’s cheer squad one of the stronger ones. This series has changed the life of Aldama as she has now become a viral sensation.
The cheer squad practices with a lot of dedication and sacrifices a lot as young athletes to earn the name and fame in the sport. The Netflix series highlighted these parts and gave information to the world how hard it is to train a cheer squad. It also showered light on how people come from different parts of the US to work hard and become a leader in the cheer squad.
“I’m very competitive and I want to be successful but I also want to be that person that leads by example. I really set a high standard for myself,” Aldama, who has become known as the “Queen of Cheer,” told CNN Sport.
“If I expect something from my kids, I should expect it from myself too. I shouldn’t even have to say anything but my actions will lead the kids and they’ll do the things I’m doing.”
Aldama has proved it time and again that she one of the best coaches across the sport at the same time the sudden fame that hit her came to her as a surprise than anything.
