This announcement was made by Pfizer also indicates that the company is on track to get approval for use in an emergency situation. This will happen if the data that is yet to be received also proves that this vaccine is safe for use and significantly helps in fighting this pandemic.
These results are based on the 96 participants who were divided into groups, a total of 44,000 people were a part of this study. Although authorities have made it clear that it is highly unlikely given the circumstances that a vaccine will be made available to the people before the end of the year 2020 and even when it is the supplies of the vaccine will be extremely limited.
This vaccine results have sure instilled people with hope and the developers of this vaccine Pfizer and BioNTech have described that it is a great day for science and technology. This vaccine has widely been tested on people across the globe and no safety issues have been encountered till date.
No vaccine till date has proven to be this successful in such a short span of time, while there still might be challenges ahead with respect to the vaccine a major milestone has been achieved where humanity can be saved and life could once again go back to the way it was -normal.
The news of this vaccine has also stirred the stock market where the prices of gold have sharply fallen down with the news.
This vaccine, however can only work at ultra-cold temperatures and hence, will not be made available in the local pharmacies anytime soon.
Two doses of the vaccine will be required to develop protection but this data is subject to change as it based only the early results on select candidates. It is now being tested more widely and results will hopefully be out by the end of this month and if found successful, the rolling out of this vaccine will begin this very year and by the first quarter of next year efforts will be made to make it available to everyone.
