Mohamed El Erian, Egyptian-American businessman appointed as the new president of Queens’ College, a constituent college of the University of Cambridge, England.
“The Governing Body of Queens’ College, Cambridge is delighted to declare the election of Dr. Mohamed A. El-Erian as the 42nd President of Queen’s College. He will take office on 1st of October 2020,” said a statement from the university.
Prior to that, El Erian was the Chief Economic Advisor of Allianz, CEO and Co-Chief Investment Officer at PIMCO, Columnist at Bloomberg View, Contributing Editor at the Financial Times, and Chair of President Obama’s Global Development Council.
Additionally, he was named four years in a row as one of Foreign Policy’s “Top 100 Global Thinkers” in addition to writing two New York Times bestsellers.
“I am particularly privileged to return to Queen’s at a time of great change, not only in social and economic affairs but also due to exciting technological innovations that influence education and our society in so many ways.”
