Prince Charles is Introducing his First Fashion Collection

Prince Charles is introducing his first ever fashion collection. The Prince’s Foundation, the royal’s charity has collaborated with Yoox Net-a-Porter to produce a capsule collection for both men and women.

Next summer The Modern Artisan, which will launch with an autumn/winter collection is hoping to bring together artisanal textile and data-driven design through high-end yet sustainable manufacturing.

This collaboration is directing as a help support for young students from the UK and Italy by providing them with the skills to mark in the fashion industry.

Six young fashion graduates from one of Italy’s leading design schools the Politecnico di Milano design the collection and six skilled British artisans to make it according tp the concept of this project.

Chairman and CEO of Yoox Net-a-Porter Federico Marchetti said, “Designed in Italy and crafted in the UK, The Modern Artisan collection will be an important expression of how talent and technology can work across boundaries and borders.”

“This project, part of a longterm partnership between Yoox Net-a-Porter and The Prince’s Foundation, will help equip a new generation of skilled men and women to fuse traditional craft with digitally-infused creativity – and, importantly, to do so sustainably, following the example of HRH The Prince of Wales who has dedicated the last 40 years to building a more sustainable future.”

Dducation director for The Prince’s Foundation at Dumfries House Jacqueline Farrell stated, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, so we are proud to have partnered with Yoox Net-A-Porter group to deliver this truly innovative training programme.

At Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter, The Outnet and Yoox  the collection is available and those who want to buy few will be able to buy via with all profits going to The Prince’s Foundation. This summer Prince Charles’s daughter-in-law, the Duchess of Sussex, in association with the charity Smart Works created a capsule workwear collection for various high-street brands including John Lewis and Marks & Spencer. Prince Charles who is known for his sartorial style follows the same way for his move into fashion industry.
