The all anticipated Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Award is the latest in the list of events to get cancelled due to the fear of COVID-19 spreading.
Many international events have gotten cancelled as the Coronavirus keeps on spreading throughout the globe.
The award ceremony was to take place at the Forum in Inglewood, California and was to be hosted by Chance the Rapper who also has been a Grammy winner.
“The Kids’ Choice Awards scheduled for March 22, 2020, in Los Angeles is being postponed in consideration of the safety and well-being of every person involved with the show, which is our top priority. We will have further information about a new date in the future.” Nickelodeon said Wednesday in a statement.
The novel coronavirus has seen more than 1,200 confirmed cases in the US itself and is pushing many shows to get cancelled. Work from home is becoming the new norm internationally and face-to-face meetings are avoided as much as possible.
Earlier this week, many shows announced that they are going to film the episodes with live studio audiences to stop the virus from spreading. The list of shows included “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah,” and many others.
Some other international events to get cancelled included E3, Coachella, SXSW and MIPTV.
