Pantone Picks Its Colours for the Year 2021

Starting the year 2021 with a bang, Pantone has managed to take everyone by surprise by choosing not one but two of its favourite colours for the year 2021.

The colours picked by Pantone are: 130647 – Illuminating and 175104 – Ultimate Grey. These colours give the perfect blend of optimism and practicality for the year 2021.

The colour illuminating is for optimism and looks at the brighter side of things. It is basically a tinge of warm yellow and it is expected that people will mostly where this colour in the summer and spring months, but at the same time it is not impossible to don it for every month. Sweaters and sweatshirts especially would look great in the colour.

The other colour that is Ultimate Grey is more focused on the winter months of the year and towards practicality. The colour if required for the summer and spring seasons can be coupled with flowery prints for a better look.

These colours are basically a way for people to fortify themselves in this new year with positive energy in their lives.

The colour Illuminating Yellow has already been seen numerous times in the new fashion collections for Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Versace among significant others. This colour is also seen very prominently in the pre-fall collections of various artists.

The reliable colour, that is, Ultimate Grey according to Pantone was seen in the collections of Lupe Gajardo, Emporio Armani, Gauchere among others. This colour is also expected in the pre fall collections of stylists for the year 2021.

This year two colours have been selected instead of one to symbolize the important message of strength by Pantone. These colours are expected to give us the important messages of hope and resilience as we enter into a new decade and year.

The New York Fashion Week and the London Fashion Week, which are among the most important events in the fashion industry showcased both these colours- Illuminating Yellow and Ultimate Grey.
