The athletic apparel brand Lululemon has announced an exciting new range of the social as well as environmental targets that it hopes to reach as a part of their first Impact Agenda which was only launched a few months ago.
This strategy is set to be completed over a number of years and is split into three major areas that are:
- Be Human
This area focuses mainly on inclusion and diversity. This will promote more and more people from different areas. - Be Well
This area majorly focuses on mindfulness and wellbeing. - Be Planet
This focuses on sustainability which is at present the need of the hour given the circumstances that our planet is facing.
There are a lot of other key commitments which includes a commitment to invest a total of 75 million dollars into equitable wellbeing programs across the globe by the year 2025. Also, they are looking to expand gender pay equity in order to ensure full pay equity for all employees and making all products with 100% sustainability and end the usage of one-time use products solutions by the year 2030.
They are also offering to resell, repair and or recycle products to all their customers by the year 2025 and also to source 100 percent renewable electricity to power all their operations. Using freshwater to manufacture their products is also a goal but as a starting point it will be done for 50% of their products.
The company feels that they have a very unique opportunity and they have a responsibility to give back to Mother Earth and drive a change that is actually meaningful change. Although they feel that since this Impact Agenda comes in the backdrop of a global pandemic and an economic crisis has hit the world, they will still work as hard as they can in order to achieve all the targets that they have set for themselves.
This is not just a set of commitments but more of a holistic approach that reflects on Lululemon as a company and their purpose of making mother earth flourish again.
